Our Youth Programs Have LEGS!
(Learning, Evolving, Growing Spirits)
Unity of the Palm Beaches’ thriving youth programs take place during Sunday service in rooms 8 and 9, located upstairs next to the Book Store and Prayer Chapel. The nursery is for infants through children age three, and older children experience age-appropriate curriculum in their own groups. Our Uniteen program for ages ten through thirteen goes further into topics with older students, and teens aged fourteen through eighteen will join our Youth Of Unity (YOU) group for more in-depth spiritual growth.
We offer the younger members of our community more than just a supportive, welcoming place to experience acceptance and spiritual education. Our loving staff provides a safe, positive, encouraging and fun atmosphere where students can begin or further their individual faith journeys. Role-modeling helps us reinforce expected behaviors, and activities make the journey of spiritual discovery and growth an enjoyable one! The unique environment we create encourages everyone to feel comfortable asking questions and discussing important issues faced by all of us as we grow.
‘Practical Christianity’ is learned through studying the Bible and other Unity-themed materials, as well as participation in group activities and projects guided by the five basic tenants that Unity is built upon:
God is all good, and active in everything, everywhere.
I am naturally good because God’s Divinity is in me and in everyone.
I create my experiences by what I choose to think, feel and believe.
Through affirmative prayer and meditation, I connect with God and bring out the good in my life.
I do and give my best by living the Truth I know. I make a difference!
Our Sunday Schedule
10:45 – 11:00 ~ Children sit with parents in the sanctuary until called
up front by Ms Trish after Welcome & song
Approx. 11:15 ~ Children are blessed and released to class
11:20 – 11:50 ~ Lessons for the day with age-appropriate curriculum
11:55 ~ Younger students travel back to the sanctuary to meet parents.
** Our lessons incorporate Unity Principles, and help students deal with life issues using positive tools. Included in our activities, we offer yoga with our instructor Jeanne Martin to younger students on the first Sunday of each month. All of our students enjoy fellowship and creativity on the fourth Sunday of every month as they ‘pop up in spirit’ with Roger Culberston, a Guinness Book of World Records holder for the world’s largest pop up book.” Our Uniteens and Y.O.U. (Youth of Unity) also gain service experience by acting as ushers and assisting with Fellowship on the fifth Sunday of any month.
